iPhone in India

iPhone was released in Singapore by Singapore Telecommunications Ltd and in India by Airtel and Vodaphone. The price is US$716 where the phone sells for as little as $199 in the U.S. And the important thing is India don’t have 3G services. So the iphone will be only a show thing of pride from Indian Actors, actress, maharajas, and sportsmen.
The price is nearly Indian Rs 31,000 and it is only affordable by real rich people. And it will face tough competition from Nokia N 96 model.
Why it is costing nearly three folds than in the USA iPhone price?
Because in USA AT&T is heavily subsidizing it under customer contract and in India it can’t be done. That’s why it is costing triple the value in India.
Further the hacked iPhones are selling in black market in New Delhi and Mumbai for Rs 17,000 - 23,000.
Anyway it is better to use the original one as sometime the new updates will not work with the hacked iPhones.
